Who would have thought kitten heels would be the ’must-have’ shoe for so long?

Since autumn/winter 2017, kitten heels have been returning to the catwalks. Fashion houses like Dior, Prada, Aquazzura and Balenciaga are the ones that revamped this shoe style with a modern twist. Since last year, we have been re-living the 50’s shoe style and they are everywhere in all shapes and forms.

Once made popular by Audrey Hepburn back in 1950s, they fall out of style and were even called ugly, boring or mumsy by some followers of fashion. Long after, kittens made a brief reappearance in the 90s but they were mostly associated with office wear. The mega come-back happened a couple of of seasons ago, and they’re still going strong.

I have to admit I don’t agree that they’re “boring”. I’d call the modern version of kittens cool and sexy!

Particularly the Balenciaga green satin kitten-heel slingback. Ahhh, super sexy, and dreamy. As a close follower of street fashion, I can confidently say that a lot of you gorgeous fashionistas – owners of Dior, Balenciaga and Prada kitten heels, would agree with me. Back in 2017, I opted for the white patent leather Prada ones, but the nude Dior sling-backs are still on my wish list.

After wondering around in my itsy bitsy heels for few productive months now, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say I “love” my kittens. If you’re a busy girl like me, who runs around my city office, after my toddler, while shopping, to the bar and (occasionally) even to the dance floor, they are the best shoe style choice if your number one priority is comfort but you’re still looking for a style kick. I can’t quite help wondering: what did we do before kittens?
